About BlogMyShit

My name is Dex and this is my Travel Journal Site. It is provided free of charge for those interested in the places I go and the stuff I do.

The quick 2 cents about me. I am 52 years old at the time of this writing and had the realization fairly recently that the things I want to do when I retire I might be too old to do. Also, I may not have the money to do or many other things. I was already traveling a bit for fun but decided to turn it around into something I thought up, sudo-retirement. (I later found out this is not a new concept, just new to me)

The idea being, that I do the stuff now that I was planning to do when I retired and not waiting till I was too old to do them. For example, learning to scuba dive. Learning to captain a boat. You know, shit like that. This is to augment my already love of traveling.

My problem, as many others, is that I go places and do things and I don’t remember all the details. So when I go back to a place, I can’t remember what I have and have not done. Which isn’t so important, but what is important is going to a restaurant that you have been to before. Which isn’t all bad unless it was bad, and not remembering what you ordered last time. If I like a restaurant, I want to work the whole menu. Not the same thing over and over. If I go some place cool, I want to be able to remember to tell some one about it. More importantly, if I go some place that sucks, I definitely want to be able to warn my friends. Also, it’s really fun to look back and the time I had.

I sometimes travel by myself and sometimes I travel with friends. Most of the time, I travel with my travel partner. We are happily in an open relationship. I am not going to go into great depths in this. If you don’t know what Polyamorous is, there are many web sites that can help you. They live in a different city/state than me so we generally only get to see each other when we travel. So we make the most of it.

I only mention this in case people wonder who the other person is in some of the pictures. I know for me, I have had those moments too. It can sometimes (rarely) be someone else and that’s ok.

If you have questions, ask. If you have judgements, post them somewhere else. I am not stopping your freedom of speech, just you camping out in my back yard. Be nice and have fun. And remember…
